monologue.

i’m the author.

I’m Jarryl. I’m turning 20 this year. 20 years of existence and sadly, nothing to show for it. I’m a hedonist, an egoistic, self-absorbed bastard, a man of big dreams and little action. All in all, a highly flawed individual. I’m pretty sure I have redeeming qualities of some sort, but I’d prefer you to find out for yourselves.

I study Mass Communication at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I have a wide spectrum of interests, from music to books to people-watching to staring into blank space. It’s therapeutic to stare into blank space. You get to see between dimensions. For example, you’re able to see 2.5 dimension images instead of say, 2 or 3. I think the term for such a hobby is stoning or spacing out.

My main purpose in life is to find out the answer to the nagging question that has confounded kings, beggars, philosophers, clowns, ice-skaters, witchdoctors, chefs, writers, cobblers, prostitutes and etc. That is, What Is The Meaning Of Life? If you think you have an answer, please leave a comment.

Your answer might just be the right one.

The Meaning of Life is a film starring the Monty Python crew.

    meaning of life?

    “and shepards we shall be
for thee my lord for thee
power hath descended forth from thy hand
that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command
and we shall flow a river forth to thee
and teeming with souls shall it ever be…”

theres meaning and purpose that every man of every faith can embrace. this is not a polite suggestion.

well, life’s about that or trying not to be an insignifiCANT little fuck

    tough call

Meaning? Why does life have to have a meaning? I ignore the possibility to meaning in life and deal with the fact that i have one and its not going away. Forget about “what if” and figure out “what is”, starting at home, closest place to you, your own mind. It’s taken me almost my whole short life to figure out who and what i am and fix it so i’m happy. I’m still figuring out how peoples minds work. But i won’t figure out the meaning of life, because i’m not omniscient, and i think life would be rather boring if i was.

Well, technically, one cannot avoid being short sighted and self-absorbed unless they’re god. The entire world is filtered through our minds so that we do not actually see the world, but our perception of the world, and is therefore unavoidably biased. Even in we ask for someone else’s view all we’re really getting is our own opinion of what that person sees. This is why i say it’s important to start with your own mind, because otherwise you don’t get a clear enough filter for everything else out there.
